Food hygiene, often known as food safety, is the act of handling, preparing, and storing food or drink in a way that reduces the risk of consumers becoming ill from the food-borne disease. Food safety principles aim to avoid foodborne diseases caused by contaminated food. Keeping this in mind, the most important aspect of the food preparation process is ensuring that the food is safe for human consumption. This includes everything from the farms to your plate, or “farm to fork.”
This implies that food cleanliness is vital both at home and in restaurants, retail stores, and food processing plants.

The general public is becoming increasingly conscious of food safety, and news organizations are reporting on food recalls and epidemics more frequently. Based on current data, the CDC estimates that 48 million people get sick from foodborne illnesses each year, 128,000 people are hospitalized, and 3,000 people die from food poisoning.
